STACEY RUSSELL | SCREENWRITING & DESIGN
About Me.
Stacey has been writing since she was a kid, when she used to charge a quarter to attend her plays put on with My Little Pony toys and DuckTales plushies at any and all family gatherings. Unfortunately her parents have many of these on video.
Stacey writes character driven stories that explore the human condition, with a focus on those who are considered "other". Stacey's son Samuel was a birth diagnosis of Down syndrome, and inclusion is a huge part of her work. Her dark comedy pilot YoungBloods, which features a diverse, neurodivergent lead, received an 8 on The Black List and was a semifinalist for the Maven Fellowship for Stowe in 2022. Her other pilot, Partners, which was a semifinalist in the LA International Screenwriting Contest, features a supporting character with Down syndrome in honor of her son.
Born in New Jersey but raised in North Carolina, Stacey has a unique blend of Northern bluntness mixed with Southern charm. She has a BFA in Graphic Design and now lives in Mount Juliet, TN, a suburb of Nashville, with her two kiddos, two rescue dogs, and her husband...who doesn't have a single creative bone in his body and loves spreadsheets and logistics (to Stacey's utter chagrin).
